  • Making child online safety a reality is a campaign and advisory toolkit from children’s rights organisations 5Rights Foundation and End Violence Against Children. It outlines various ways policy makers can ensure children can and should be protected online.

The document provides anecdotal evidence and learnings from governments and organisations around the world; policy action areas broken down into easy to digest, work-sheet-like sections; and a range of tools and resources to utilise when constructing new policies. It’s close to 200 pages long, consisting of ten chapters and exists in several forms. The print version, mailed by 5Rights to key stakeholders and organisations around the world – including representatives of the EU Parliament, the United Nations and the Duke of Cambridge’s Foundation – was a ring-bound document consisting of 10 different paper stocks, foil-embossed front and back covers and perforated sections inside. The digital PDF version is interactive with editable form-fields and quick links to various sections for easy access. Besides English, this was produced in seven languages. The digital toolkit is available for download from the campaign website, designs for which versions were produced for mobile and desktop views.

An explainer video was also produced, working with an animator and voice over artist to create an engaging piece of content that could also be cut down for social media and promotional use.
